Giovanna explica que o organismo produz o chamado \u201ccolesterol ruim\u201d (LDL \u2013 Lipoprote\u00edna de Baixa Densidade) e o \u201ccolesterol bom\u201d (HDL \u2013 Lipoprote\u00edna de Alta Densidade), cada um com fun\u00e7\u00f5es espec\u00edficas. Quando h\u00e1 um desequil\u00edbrio entre ambos com o aumento dos n\u00edveis de LDL, ocorre a hipercolesterolemia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEsse desequil\u00edbrio pode ocorrer por sedentarismo, alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o com gorduras, excesso de consumo de carne vermelha e tamb\u00e9m por fatores gen\u00e9ticos. Tabagismo e consumo de \u00e1lcool, embora n\u00e3o sejam causas, tamb\u00e9m podem contribuir para a doen\u00e7a\u201d, afirma a endocrinologista.<\/p>\n<p>Ela alerta que o n\u00edvel elevado de LDL \u00e9 assintom\u00e1tico, da\u00ed a import\u00e2ncia da realiza\u00e7\u00e3o peri\u00f3dica de exames de sangue para avalia\u00e7\u00e3o m\u00e9dica.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preven\u00e7\u00e3o<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Para a preven\u00e7\u00e3o ou o controle dos n\u00edveis de colesterol, a m\u00e9dica recomenda uma alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o com carnes brancas como frango ou peixe, evitar frituras, utilizar \u00f3leos vegetais em pouca quantidade e consumir castanhas com modera\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPor conta da vida moderna com m\u00e1 alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o e sedentarismo, muitos dos pacientes j\u00e1 necessitam de tratamento na faixa dos 40 anos. Em alguns casos, perder peso tamb\u00e9m ajuda. Se necess\u00e1rio, o paciente dever\u00e1 tomar medica\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 base de estatinas e ter disciplina para manter o tratamento pelo tempo que for necess\u00e1rio. H\u00e1 casos em que \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio ministrar medica\u00e7\u00e3o mesmo antes dos 40 anos.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Exerc\u00edcios f\u00edsicos regulares s\u00e3o indispens\u00e1veis, prossegue a dra.
